North of the border

Back today from a whirlwind 'stag' weekend in Edinburgh (which you may know was also my stag destination)....just a few points of interest

1) The guy sat next to me on the plane out there was wearing a suit, maybe in his mid to late fifties, and was listening to 'My Niggaz' by DMX on his iPod when I glanced over.

2) I didn't remember anything of the city until we went into some places, when vague recollection overcame me. Steve, Dev and Terry helped fill in some gaps

3) During paintball I was hit several times, including one shot which, had it been about two inches to the left, could well have been very painful indeed. I have a few war wounds which will turn into nice bruises I'm sure.

4) There was a bar/club called Chasers, which looked far worse than the fictional premises in the Office. I'm glad we didn't go in there.

5) Edinburgh appears to be a hugely popular stag/hen destination. For example there were 8 stags at paintball, and at least 10 hens in one of the bars we went to on Saturday night.

6) My flight home was delayed by 2 1/2 hours. I had planned to get an early flight to give me time to get to Spurs' last game of the season (we won, woo!), but instead it still involved running in the rain to make kick-off by about 1 minute.

Other than that, pretty much run-of-the-mill fare.....I don't have any pictures, but if you're lucky I'll get round to uploading those from Dubai and fill you all in with what happened there.
